Bill,
My name is Jerry Taylor. I served in Viet-Nam
1967-1968 as an armored crewmember with the 1st combat eng, Battalion, on Tank
dozers. We had 4 tanks assigned to the Battalion for security. The tanks and
their crews in fact belonged to the 1/4 Cav. Although we were not assigned to
the Cav, We would let every one know where we really belonged. I found your web
site, and would like to let you know that all of us that served on the
tankdozers still call our selves cavarlymen. After returning to the states I was
assigned to the 63rd armored batta lion,at Fort Riley. I then served with the
15th cav. at Fort Knox. I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you its a great
web.site. Welcome Home.
If any of you remember Jerry, you may contact him at caderbop@aol.com.

John sent me the following comment about the previous photos that were uploaded.BB
bill,
if you look at the slides, they are all numbered with a month and year, ie, 1
may 68. The vietnamese memorial is in An Loc, we were on the way to Loch Ninh.
The flying crane with the artillery is at Loc Ninh. we went to Loch Ninh about
Jan 68, after it was overrun on new years day. there is a photo of the burial
ground at LN where over 1000 enemy troops r buried. Spooky hit them hard. we
spent about 7 to 10 days at loc ninh firing rounds into cambodia. the picture of
the kids and the arvn outpost I believe r on the way to Loc Ninh. The tank
with the rpg screen I believe is at the water plant on newport highway . the WIA
is part of a series of photos at the Battle of Tan Hiep. I don't know if he was
a trooper or infantry. the chopper went back in after we dropped off the macv
and arvns at Tan Hiep. This was on or about 5/6/68.
I'm glad the photos
retained their clarity after all these years. John
