New e-mail address for:
Please join me in keeping Joe Birindelli and Gary Chenett in our prayers as they battle Serious health problems. BB
ROBERT "DUKE" Snyder, A Troop, 3rd Platoon - 1965 to 66. As some of you are aware, Duke has been
working on his book which gives a very in depth written description of his tour of duty with A Troop and with photos.
Duke said that he tried unsuccessfully to find a publisher who would publish his book without undue editing, so he
decided to publish it himself. He has done this in a very neat and compact method. When you purchase the book you
receive two CD's, one with the written book, the other will have many photos of day to day life in a Cavalry Troop
and will include photos from two of A Troops major battles. Ap Bau Bang, Nov 12, 1965 and Ap Tau O' aka Benchmark 69,
June 8, 1966. If you are attending the Reunion this year, you may purchase a copy of the book while there from Bill Baty.
Otherwise you will need to contact Duke and he will send the book to you. Duke's computer is not on-line at present
you may call him at 352.522.1810. I will post his e-mail when he gets back on line. There are three other books that
I am aware of by Troopers of the Quarter Horse that will be published soon I hope. 'There's a movie or movies in
there somewhere and lots of history in each of these books.' BB
Danny Slaughter [slaughters@windstream.net] would like some information on an A Trooper from the 65-66 timeframe.BB
I was looking up Vietnam wall and they list a Joseph Giordano
as KIA at battle of Bau Bang and member of 4th Cav. Can you
shed some knowledge about him. Do you remember him?
I remember his name Danny but that's about all. He very well have been A Mortarman in 1st or 3rd Platoons. but I'm not sure. BB
E. Training
1. The status of training in the BIG RED ONE continued to be excellent.
Replacement training programs continued to be conducted at all base camps to insure
that all replacements received a minimum of 40 hours of instruction prior to
participating in combat operations. This instruction is requiredfor enlisted
personnel in grades of E-1 to E-7 and for officer personnel in grades 0-1 and 0-2.
Training continues for squads and platoons rotating to base camps from operational
areas.
2. It should be noted that for the period August 1966 through January 1967,
6,098 1st Infantry Division replacements have graduated from the five schools. In
addition, 292 personnel from the 9th Infantry Division graduated from the 1st Infantry
Division schools.
3. The 2d Battalion, 2d Infantry (Mechanized) completed mechanization
training during the reporting period and is now participating in combat operations as
a mechanized unit.
F. Psychological Operations and Civic Action, Revolutionary Development Support
1. Psychological Operations
a. November had been designated as CHIEU HOI month in the Division.
Since the Division spent the major portion of the month in TAY NINH Province on Operation
ATTLEBORO, the expected emphasis could not be directed toward the CHIEU HOI effort. However,
some effort was directed toward encouraging VC in the Division TAOR to rally, and a large
amount of CHIEU HOI material was used in TAY NINH.
b. The following psychological operations were conducted in support
of Operation ATTLEBORO.
(1). The capture of two North Vietnamese provided an opportunity
for exploitation. One leaflet was aimed at the 3d Co, 3 Bn, 271st Regiment. The second leaflet
pictured a North Vietnamese senior lieutenant who commanded the 3d Co, 3d Bn, 101 NVN Regiment.
Both were appeals for their respective units to surrender.
(2). Weapons and munitions, captured in a huge storage cache
during a search operation, were pictured and itemized on a leaflet designed to encourage the
people and discourage the VC.
(3) It was learned through interrogation that one reason
VC were not rallying after the battles was that they were lost and did not know where to go.
A leaflet showing a sketch of the area with directions on what to do was produced and
distributed; ultimately, 14 VC rallied.
(4) The 9th VC Division proved to be a highly motivated
fighting unit. A leaflet was printed praising the unit but telling them they were fighting
for the wrong cause.
(5) The NVN Lt. who was captured recorded a message as
soon as he was evacuated to the Division PW cage and the tape was broadcast over the area in
which he had been captured seven hours earlier. It was an appeal for his unit to rally.
c. During December, Psychological operations were aimed at the
local guerillas, infrastructure, and the PHU LOI Battalion. Several seal operations were
conducted around towns which the PHU LOI Battalion is known to frequent. The purpose was to
encourage the people to contact the PHU LOI Battalion and urge them to switch to the side of
the GVN. In each operation, posters were pasted throughout the town which pictured and
explained the CHIEU HOI Program. Free South Vietnamese newspapers, calendars and Safe Conduct
Passes were hand distributed to each house. Speeches were made by two former PHU LOI
Battalion members, who also spoke to individuals, to try to emphasize the fact that the GVN
was the right side and that Battalion members would be well received if they rallied. A total
of 6,965,200 leaflets was delivered throughout the TAOR by airdrop and hand distribution.
Over 5,000 calendars, 10,000 Free South newspapers and 899 posters were hand circulated and 34
hours of airborne loudspeaker broadcasts were made during the month.
d. Operation CEDAR FALLS provided the opportunity for the most
definitive and successful psychological operation ever conducted by the 1st Infantry Division.
During the first and second days of the operation, airborne loudspeakers were used to control
civilians so that they would not be injured during any fighting which developed. People were
cautioned not to run and to remain intheir homes and await further instructions. The success
of this effort is demonstrated by the fact that although there were over 6,000 people in the
area of operation only one civilian was injured as a result of combat operations. Starting on
the second day of the operation, ground and airborne loudspeakers and leaflets were used to
inform the people and control their evacuation from the area. The PsyOps effort was effective;
however, difficulty was encountered when troops who were not adequately informed, prematurely
evicted people from the area. As the operation progressed, a number of prisoners and “Hoi
Chanhs” ralliers were generated. A special PsyOps team was obtained from II FFV and special
leaflets and loudspeaker tapes were produced. Specific appeals were directed toward identified
groups throughout the operational area. A massive PsyOps effort designed to promote defection
was continued throughout the operation. A total of 4,300,000 leaflets were dropped of which two
million were special reaction leaflets. In addition, airborne loudspeakers broadcasted an
average of six hours a day during this operation. As a result of these PsyOps operations, there
were 576 ralliers in the Division TAOR during the month.
2. Civic Action
a. During the month of November, the Division was given the mission
to relocated 500 families from BEN CUI II and III. To preclude problems arising, all interested
personnel and organizations were read into the situation. All plans and preliminary actions
were completed. While awaiting the final go ahead, the Division returned to its assigned TAOR.
The action was passed to the 3d Bde, 4th Inf Div.
b. Over 24,000 civilians were treated under the MEDCAP Program
during the quarter. At each gathering of the people who took part in this program, the units
took advantage of the situation to further emphasize the CHIEU HOI Program and the advantages of
working on the side of the GVN.
c. One of the principal objectives of Operation CEDAR FALLS was to
evacuate all civilians from the IRON TRIANGLE and BEN SUC areas. A total of over 6,000 people
were evacuated from the area to a temporary camp at the BINH DUONG Province Capital, PHU CUONG.
In the planning for Operation CEDAR FALLS, it was established that the Office of Civilian
Operations (OCO) would take care of the refugees. However, when the Operations got underway, it
was found that OCO could not handle the problem during the establishment of the camp. This was
caused by their lack of directly controlled assets, inability to make advance preparations due
to security requirements, and there underestimation of the problem coupled with an
overestimation of their ability to perform. The Division found it necessary to move a major
element into the refugee camp to get it set up and functioning. Major problems were encountered
in transportation, clearing the area, erecting shelters, providing water, feeding the people,
and providing for livestock. Within ten days OCO and the GVN were able to control the situation
and provide for the refugees which enabled the Division to withdraw the majority of its support.
In addition, it was necessary to provide significant support in tents and commodities, to the
CHIEU HOI Center to enable them to provide for the large influx of ralliers. Finally, the
elements of the Division continued support of routine civic action projects in the vicinity of
base camps.
3. Revolutionary Development
a. During the quarter, the Division refined its role in
Revolutionary Development Support. Experience has shown that the principal contribution which
the Division can make to Revolutionary Development is to help provide security; in addition,
psychological operations and civic action also support Revolutionary Development. Elimination
of VC infrastructure and local guerrillas proved to be the most beneficial objective for the
Division. This was accomplished by patrolling, ambushes, seal and search of villages, clearing
of roads, artillery destruction program, and support of the CHIEU HOI Program. By conducting
these activities, a large number of VC, draft evaders, ad deserters were taken from the area
each month. The overall result has been a noticeable decrease in VC activity and an increase in
freedom of movement in BINH DUON Province. The VC are suffering from attrition, and their
hard-core units are being pushed away from the populated areas.
b. During operations ATTLEBORO and CEDAR FALLS, one battalion was
left in the Division TAOR to continue security support of Revolutionary Development.
Nevertheless, local guerrillas steadily increased activities in the area during the absence of
the majority of the Division. As the Operations ended, our unit were moved back into the TAOR
and resumed search and seal operations. As the units returned to the area, the situation
returned to normal.
c. During January, major jungle clearing operations in the TAOR were
undertaken before and after Operation CEDAR FALLS, and large areas of jungle were cleared in the
IRON TRIANGLE during Operation CEDAR FALLS. In the TAOR thee major jungles which had been
regularly used as VC base areas were cleared.
With all the discussion regarding the award of CIB's to those with the MOS 11D I thought I'd throw my orders into the pot. The orders were copied off the micro fiche given me at retirement and is not of the best quality. My first tour in Vietnam was with D Trp, 1st Sqdn, 9th Cav, 1st Cav Div during the years 1966 thru 1967. the 1st of the 9th Cav was the 1st Cavalry Divisions Air Cav Squadron consisting of 3 Air Cav troops with D troop being the ground troop. A, B, and C troop of course had the helicopters the blues (Infantry), whites (Air Scouts) and the reds (Aerial Rocket Artillery). I spent more time being air lifted into LZ's and humping my butt and ruck around the central highlands than most infantry companies did. Being the bastards of the squadron (ground cav in an air cav squadron) we were utilized for all ash and trash mission that came down the pike. I distinctly remember having been awarded the CIB 5 times and seeing it rescinded 4 times. When we began asking what was up the S-1 advised us that 11D's were not authorized the award so the Squadron Commander had to go see the Division Commander and render his reasoning as to why we were being awarded an award only a grunt was authorized. His rationale was that we were performing the duties and activities of 11B's on a daily basis. As stated above the 5th time the orders were cut it stuck and we, 11D's were able to have the CIB annotated on our Personnel File and eventually our DD-214's. While assigned to the 1st of the 9th Cav I was also awarded the air medal. These two awards, air medal and CIB, caused my superiors at Ft. Knox to question me about them being displayed on my Greens due to my being an 11D and finally a 19Z. I don't know if this will help whomever is trying to get the awarding of the CIB for 11D' or not but again I thought I'd through my orders into the pot.

We have all seen this information before but unless reminded we tend to forget.
What do you think we can do to let those who "represent" us HA HA HA that the American citizens want us to drill our own oil and not import any anymore?
Subject: OIL (NOT a JOKE) YOU CAN CHECK THIS AT USGS]
1. The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels.. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.
'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.
'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years.' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada . For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!
That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 41 years straight.
2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!
U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World!
Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?
They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:
- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy....WHY?
James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.
Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?
Got your attention/ire up yet? Hope so! Now, while you're thinking about it ...... and hopefully P.O'd, do this:
3. Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you want to complain about gas prices .. because by doing NOTHING, you've forfeited your right to complain.

Here's a swell article sent in by John Conley BB
TIGER WOODS SPEECH AT THE 2009 INAUGURATION:
SNOPES says it's true http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/tigerwoods.asp
His speech was entitled:
"You'll Never Walk Alone"
"I grew up in a military family - and my role models in life were my Mom and Dad, Lt. Colonel Earl Woods. My dad was a Special Forces operator and many nights friends would visit our home. They represented every branch of the service, and every rank.
In my Dad, and in those guests, I saw first hand the dedication and commitment of those who serve. They come from every walk of life; from every part of our country. Time and again, across generations, they have defended our safety in the dark of night and far from home.
Each day -- and particularly on this historic day -- we honor the men and women in uniform who serve our country and protect our freedom. They travel to the dangerous corners of the world, and we must remember that for every person who is in uniform, there are families who wait for them to come home safely.
I am honored that the military is such an important part, not just of my personal life, but of my professional one as well. The golf tournament we do each year here in Washington is a testament to those unsung heroes.
I am the son of a man who dedicated his life to his country, family and the military, and I am a better person for it.
In the summer of 1864, Abraham Lincoln, the man at whose memorial we stand, spoke to the 164th Ohio Regiment and said: 'I am greatly obliged to you, and to all who have come forward at the call of their country.'
Just as they have stood tall for our country - we must always stand by and support the men and women in uniform and their families.
Thank you, and it is now my pleasure to introduce the US Naval Glee Club ..."
"As of today, U.S. combat forces will turn over the security of cities to Iraqi Security Forces, and begin a period where our primary security role is one of training, mentoring and advising the ISF," said Maj. Gen. Rick Nash, commander, Multi-National Division-South. "Today's ISF is capable, ready and dedicated to keeping the people of Iraq safe."
Nash praised the dedication of the ISF as well as the proficiency of the U.S. and Coalition forces, and attributed the successful implementation of the Security Agreement to their actions.
"Iraq's successes and significantly improved security are a testament of the ISF's progress and its dedication to Iraq's sovereignty," said Nash. "The Iraqis have made strides in their ability to protect their citizens, and our brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines are doing a great job in helping them build both their security forces and their civil capacity."
Nash said though U.S. Soldiers will no longer inhabit the cities of Iraq, American and Coalition forces will continue to support the ISF within the parameters of the Security Agreement.
"Leaving the cities does not mean that we are backing off; instead, it indicates our confidence in the Iraqis to safeguard their own citizens,” said Nash. “Likewise, the Security Agreement is a tangible, positive sign of a mature relationship between two sovereign nations."
In accordance with the Security Agreement, U.S. forces will withdraw from all Iraqi territory by Dec. 31, 2011. Today will be remembered as a significant step toward the realization of that objective.
"So, on this important day of transition in Iraq, our two nations move forward together as friends, with the shared goal of the safety and security of the Iraqi people," said Nash. "I am very encouraged about the future success of Iraq."
(Story by Dave Lankford, Multi-National Division – South)
A man wakes up in the hospital, bandaged from head to foot.
The doctor comes in and says, 'Ah, I see you've regained consciousness.
Now, you probably won't remember, but you were in a pile-up on the freeway.
You're going to be okay, you'll walk again and everything, but..... something happened.
I'm trying to break this gently, but the fact is, your willy was chopped off in the wreck and we were unable to find it.'
The man perks up at this. 'So,' the doctor says, 'it's for you to
decide how many inches you want. But it's something you'd better discuss with your wife.
I mean, if you had a five inch one before, and you decide to go for a nine incher, she might be a bit put out.
But if you had a nine inch one before, and you decide only to invest in a five incher this time,
she might be disappointed. So it's important that she plays a role in helping you make the decision.'
The man agrees to talk with his wife. The doctor comes back the next day. 'So,' says the doctor, 'have you spoken with your wife?'
'I have,' says the man.
'And has she helped you in making the decision?'
'Yes, she has,' says the man.
'And what is it?' asks the doctor.
'We're getting granite countertops.'

What a neat way to learn French! Thanks to Gary "Chenett".
Write for my autograph now before the price goes up.
A thief in Paris planned to steal some paintings from the Louvre.
After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings, and made it safely to his van.
However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas.
When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, 'Monsieur, that is the reason I stole the paintings.'
I had no "Monet".
To buy "Degas".
To make the "Van Gogh".'

Here's one sent in by George Villanueva.
A man had just settled into his seat next to the window on the plane
when another man sat down in the aisle seat and put his black Labrador
Retriever in the middle seat next to the man.
The first man looked very quizzically at the dog and asked why the dog
was allowed on the plane.
The second man explained that he was from the Commonwealth Police Drug
Department and that the dog was a 'sniffing dog'.
'His name is Sniffer and he's the best there is. I'll show you once we
get airborne, when I put him to work.'
The plane took off , and once it has levelled out, the Policeman said,
'Watch this.'
He told Sniffer to 'search'.
Sniffer jumped down, walked along the aisle, and finally sat very
purposefully next to a woman for several seconds.
Sniffer then returned to his seat and put one paw on the policeman's
arm.
The Policeman said, 'Good boy', and he turned to the man and
said, 'That woman is in possession of marijuana, I'm making a note of her seat
number and the authorities will apprehend her when we land.
'Gee, that's pretty good,' replied the first man.
Once again, the Policeman sent Sniffer to search the aisles.
The Lab sniffed about, sat down beside a man for a few seconds,
returnedto its seat, and this time he placed two paws on the agent's arm.
The Policeman said, 'That man is carrying cocaine, so again, I'm
making
a note of his seat number for the police.'
'I like it !' said his seat mate.
The Policeman then told Sniffer to 'search' again.
Sniffer walked up and down the aisles for a little while, sat down
for amoment, and then came racing back to the agent, jumped into the middle
seat and proceeded to crap all over the place.
The first man was really disgusted by this behaviour and couldn't figure
out how or why a well-trained dog would behave like that, so he asked
the Policeman, 'What's going on ?'
The Policeman nervously replied, 'He's just found a bomb.'

Furthermore, it hinders the work of institutions such as IQWiG. IQWiG's aim is to draw reliable conclusions concerning the benefit and harm of drugs.

Insulin Analogue Glargine Possibly Increases Cancer Risk
The analysis has now been published together with further studies in the scientific journal Diabetologia, the official organ of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). The disturbing result is that malignancies were found more frequently in patients treated with glargine than in those prescribed a comparable dose of human insulin. "Our analysis does not provide absolute proof that glargine promotes cancer," says Peter T. Sawicki, IQWiG's Director and co-author of the study. "Our study does, however, arouse an urgent suspicion which should have consequences for the treatment of patients."
No difference was found between the short-acting insulin analogues, lispro and aspart, and human insulin. Insulin analogues are synthetic molecules that do not occur naturally, whereas human insulin matches the insulin that the human body manufactures itself.

Transplant Drug Stimulates Immune Memory
In experiments conducted in both mice and monkeys, rapamycin can stimulate the formation of memory CD8 T cells, which enable the immune system to respond faster and stronger to an infectious agent upon a second encounter.
The results were published online ahead of print June 21 in Nature. The finding means that doctors might be able to boost the effectiveness of vaccines with drugs that act similarly to rapamycin, says postdoctoral researcher Koichi Araki, PhD, who is first author.

A New Weapon In The War Against HIV-AIDS
The study was led by Dr. Rafick-Pierre Sékaly, of the Université de Montréal. Dr. Jean-Pierre Routy of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and scientists from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the University of Minnesota in the United States also collaborated on the investigation.
To date, anti-AIDS treatments have been stymied by "HIV reservoirs" - immune system cells where the virus hides and where existing HAART treatments cannot reach. The researchers successfully identified the cells where HIV hides and the "stealth" mechanisms that allow the virus to escape existing treatments. This breakthrough opens the way towards innovative therapies that are completely different from current approaches.

Exploring New Therapy Strategies For Tuberculosis
The fact that bacteria also possess a special "small" protein that can be attached to other proteins to alter their fate became known only recently. The "small" protein, which has been named "Pup", helps to dispose of other proteins. However, its attachment may also control and regulate other important processes in the cells. "Pup" acts as a kind of marker. By being attached to another protein, it signals to the degradation complex that the marked protein is ready for disposal.
Eilika Weber-Ban, research group leader at the Institute of Molecular Biology & Biophysics of ETH Zurich, and her team have now succeeded in understanding how the "Pup" protein works in the tuberculosis pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In the test tube, the researchers were able to show how Pup is attached to proteins. By doing so, the scientists discovered a new enzyme which they call "Dop". The results were published recently in "Nature Structural & Molecular Biology". The study may provide the basis for therapeutic strategies for people suffering from tuberculosis, especially in the case of patients in whom the pathogen has acquired resistance to antibiotics.

Anti-inflammatory Drugs May Defeat a Treatment-Resistant Type of Cancer
By following the trail of several molecular flags that mark this type of cancer, a team from the University of California, San Diego, the Burnham Institute for Medical Research and the University of Copenhagen Hospital have discovered that anti-inflammatory drugs used to treat arthritis will shrink lymphoma tumors in mice.
Their report, published in the July issue of the journal EMBO Molecular Medicine, also strengthens evidence for a link between inflammation and cancer.

"Safety-Net" Hospitals Need Support to Survive
Safety-net hospitals are typically found in areas in which the uninsured are concentrated - inner-city neighborhoods and economically depressed rural communities. Private hospitals with a large base of paying patients can shift their relatively modest costs of uncompensated care onto other patients' bills, safety-net hospitals have little capacity for shifting costs.
Nearly 30 years ago, the federal government developed a plan to partner with states to provide supplemental Medicaid payments to facilities that provided a disproportionate share of care to the uninsured and Medicaid beneficiaries. These facilities came to be called "disproportionate share hospitals (DSHs)" and the supplements were called DSH payments.

William Dale Crock of Cave City, Ark., was in jail Friday on a marijuana possession charge, plus traffic and seat beat violations. Dallas police say Crock was arrested Wednesday when bundles of marijuana were discovered under the casket's cover and pillow.
Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse (JAN'-see) told said the van turned up during surveillance on a suspected drug house. Police stopped the van in Mesquite, after noticing Crock not wearing a seat belt. Officers also said he allegedly ran a red light and did an improper lane change.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to the casket in the van.
The online records of the Lew Sterrett Justice Center had no listing for an attorney for Crock.

Prayer for Those Coping With Cancer
Merciful God, ease the suffering of all those who seek your comfort
from the pain of cancer -- their own or that of others. Grant us
all a firm assurance of your love, a balm that can protect us from
the ravages of fear and pain. Bless those around us who provide support,
love, and care to our bodies and souls in need. Strengthen our faith.
Give us courage to face our fears and know your love and protection will
brush aside the suffering of this life for an eternal life in the glorious
presence of your love.
Amen

This is pretty simple... Please ask ten friends to each ask a further ten today!
The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute (about 15 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals for free'. This doesn’t cost you a thing.
Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned /neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Please pass it along to people you know.

The man groans, but the doctor goes on, 'You've got $9000 in insurance compensation coming
and we have the technology now to build you a new willy that will work as well as your old
one did -better in fact! But the thing is, it doesn't come cheap. It's $1000 an inch.'

This is NOT a joke. If you were able to pass these 3 tests, you can cancel your annual visit to your neurologist. Your brain is great and you're far from having a close relationship with Alzheimer.
Pfizer Conceals Study Data
The pharmaceutical company Pfizer is concealing data on the effect of a drug (Edronax® containing the agent reboxetine) for the treatment of depression. Despite repeated requests by the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG), Pfizer has refused to provide a complete list of all published and unpublished trials on reboxetine. The Institute discovered through its own literature search that the drug approved in Germany has been tested in at least 16 trials. However, in 9 of these 16 trials, key information is missing that would enable an evaluation of reboxetine's performance.
The risk of cancer possibly increases if patients with diabetes use the long-acting insulin analogue glargine instead of human insulin. The Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG), in collaboration with the "Wissenschaftliches Institut der AOK" (WIdO), the research institute of the German Local Health Care Fund, analysed the data of almost 130,000 patients with diabetes in Germany who had been treated with either human insulin or the insulin analogues lispro (trade name: Humalog), aspart (Novorapid) or glargine (Lantus) between January 2001 and June 2005.
Rapamycin, a drug given to transplant recipients to suppress their immune systems, has a paradoxical effect on cells responsible for immune memory, scientists at the Emory Vaccine Center have discovered.
A discovery by a team of Canadian and American researchers could provide new ways to fight HIV-AIDS. According to a new study published in Nature Medicine, HIV-AIDS could be treated through a combination of targeted chemotherapy and current Highly Active Retroviral (HAART) treatments. This radical new therapy would make it possible to destroy both the viruses circulating in the body as well as those playing hide-and-seek in immune system cells.
Certain protein degradation complexes, molecular "shredders", dispose protein garbage. Molecular machines of that kind belong to the area of expertise of Eilika Weber-Ban, who together with her team has now successfully decoded how proteins in tuberculosis bacteria are prepared for disposal.
Effective drugs for treating a chemotherapy-resistant form of lymphoma might already be on the market according to a study that has pieced together a chemical pathway involved in the disease.
Health care reform may make life easier for low-income Americans in the future, but for now, it's "safety-net" hospitals that need rescuing in order to serve the needs of millions of uninsured patients and meet the disaster response needs of communities, say experts in the June 18, 2009 New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
